Awesome October 11, 2009 P Miller (Mississippi) This book is just another awesome book by an awesome author. I love the Great Lives Series. Great read.
Interesting biography and commentary July 14, 2009 Minpro (East, TN) A good audiobook on the life of Elijah. Swindoll follows Elijah through his life and makes comments on how the stages of his life relate to challenges for us today. He takes brief mentions and expands on how they made Elijah the man God wanted. It was especially interesting how much Elijah traveled. Not riveting, but an interesting read about the life of a great prophet of God.
Elijah . . . I AM March 1, 2009 William E. Hemphill (Alton, IL United States) I really enjoyed reading this book. Swindoll understands much of what was going on to a point that the reader can almost experience how God was working and talking through Elijah.
Elijah - The man of mystery is now like a close companion February 17, 2009 B. Coates (Maryland) Little is known about Elijah. He comes on the scene for a few chapters and as abruptly as he came on the stage, he's taken away in a firey chariot. Although the Bible spends little time in explaining his life, Elijah becomes almost more pivital then King David himself, even tho almost four books are contributed to David and a few Chapters on Elijah, Elijah is one of the chosen two who meets Jesus on the mount of transfiguration.
Charles draws every bit of information he can from Elijahs ministry and explains it in detail. Elijah, once a man of mystery, now can be known almost as a close friend.
This is my favorite book from the series of 'Great lives from Gods word' and really my favorite book of all of Chuck's works (so far at least, I'm about to embark on a few more soon).
This book teaches us about Boldness, Faith, Being God Centered, Being self sufficent as opposed to being God sufficent, and the problem of feeling insecure
A great book and a must have for everyone

Great Book!! December 28, 2007 Mary A. JACKSON-MEDREK (Belchertown, Ma USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Elijah is one of my favorite characters in the Bible. One minute he's a great warrior beating out hundreds of other fake prophets, the next minute he's running from a woman, Jezebel,!! Chuck Swindoll makes his characters come to life, you live inside their skins with them and feel their pain and their triumph. This is a great book
