Product Description The Veggie gang retell the Jonah and the whale story in their own way, and learn that second chances are a gift.
Parents seeking kid-friendly, Christian entertainment can be comfortable letting their kids watch Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, which turns the characters from the biblical story of Jonah into a bunch of talking cucumbers, asparagus, peas, and other vegetables. When God instructs the prophet Jonah to go to the wicked city of Ninevah to spread His word, Jonah balks and tries to flee by ship--only to end up in the belly of a whale. When he finally consents to go to Ninevah, things don't turn out quite the way he expects. The VeggieTales team uses computer animation and upbeat musical numbers to express Christian themes, but they do so without being painfully didactic. The animation (and the humor) isn't as sophisticated as that in Toy Story or Shrek, and kids may find some elements of the story confusing, but this may provide an opportunity for parents and kids to discuss values. --Bret Fetzer

My son loves this movie August 19, 2010 Samantha Goodner We purchased this movie for our three year old son and he LOVES it. We have one other Veggie movie and new we had to get this one. My son loves telling us the stories he learns in bible class so he thought it was very cool that he could see that story come to life. I've been hearing about Jonah for weeks! Money well spent!
Great July 23, 2010 Alice Marvel My 2 year old daughter loves the pirates and thought jonah was funny getting swallowed by the big fish. She loved the music that opened the movie. She is new to the veggie tale series so this was the first one but we will definitely be purchasing more.
Loved the video !! March 18, 2010 C. J. Reott (So,Cal) I really loved this video. However, I am a grandmother and had bought this for my year old grandson. He loves the other Veggie Tales that are shorter. This one was way too long - my mistake not realizing it was a movie and not broken up into little stories. Definitely going to keep it when he gets older.
jonah February 24, 2010 Aubrey Weaver This is a fun movie for anyone of any age!! I got it for my 2 1/2 year old, but the whole family enjoys it! It's a great story and has great music too.
Superb! February 5, 2010 Middle Earth This was the first big screen Veggie outing. Funny, nice songs and a well made version of the Jonah account. This is my favorite Veggie Tales DVD along with the 'Heroes of the Bible' ones.
