 Best Family TV Show Of All Time March 10, 2010

I have always loved Little House and owning this one has let to the ownership of the entire series. Because of that I have paid for this first season, I have to admit downloading the other seasons for free as a torrent on line did not produce a nice and clear copy of the program as owning this DVD does but then again it didn't cost me like this one did. I think it's too price or I would have purchased the entire series from Amazon.com. Now I live where I can safely download such things and not fear I will end up in jail so in that way I'm lucky but they really should lower the price of this item...It would have to be half as much as what I paid for it before I would have been able to order more seasons from them. Ok the ones I downloaded are not perfect and always clear like this....but they didn't cost me an arm and a let either.

This is the best TV show I saw in my whole life . Pa`s dignity , Ma`s tenderness and of course Laura`s pure heart .
It makes me feel that I want to go in that world and actually live in it .
The episode I like best is " Lord is my Sheperd " . It dealt with Laura`s feeling of guilt because she didn`t pray for the newborn baby and the baby died in a disease . Laura ran away to a mountain so God can hear her prayers better . At the end God sends Pa to Laura to bring her home . The way Melissa Gilbert performed was magnificent . It made my whole family shed tears . Even when I think of that episode it makes me emotional .
There will be no regret on buying this dvd . This is good for people of all ages .

I bought season 1 and 2 when they first came out. They were pretty good except some nimrod at the company decided to cut out the end credits from the episodes. Thanks alot, guys. thats why I didnt buy any more of the sets.

The first season (one that focuses a great deal on Laura played by the
talented Melissa Gilbert) is definitely worth owning! The flaw I wrote of in the title concerns the first season ep where Caroline (Karen Grassle) goes briefly to work as a school teacher! For some reason Grassle couldn't cut it at all as a professional school teacher, she was just unconvincing. Michael Landon seemingly felt the same way as notice how he never brought this Caroline-teacher element back (he produced as well as starred in the show)! Moral lesson to be learned: sometimes the simplest tasks for no reason are beyond you, as was the case with Grassle! But again outside of this the first season is magnificent! They stick fairly close to the book here as well!
PS There was an eighth season ep called Stone Soup where Caroline is seen teaching again but she is presumably doing so just to sub for sick Laura and without town council authorization! Bad student Willy Olson is also seen in this same ep subbing for sick Laura!

I was really disappointed when I received my package. A loose dvd was scratched and unlabeled. One of the dvds was missing. I contacted the person and told him the situation. He corrected it right away and refunded my money. So part of the transaction was not good but the seller was very prompt and apologetic about the situation so that was good.
