Excellent music - for a change November 11, 2008

I've listened to a lot of bad Christian music that was more mantra than anything. Perhaps it's more of a theological difference, but Keith Getty is a brilliant songwriter. As I hold to Reformed theology, this music is as good as the old hymns. I would consider this music modern day hymns. Whether or not you agree with my theology, you will agree that this music is very, very good.
Just what I was looking for - awesome music and lyrics September 3, 2008

Always looking for good, Christ-centered music, and this was just what I was looking for. Had recently read the verse about worshipping in the Spirit and was trying to understand it. When I read the review in Amazon that mentioned this exact thing, it was amazing. Knew I had to get it, and I have not been disappointed. Not like modern christian music, which is a plus.

Since becoming a Christian, I've grown to dislike about 99% of music, and about 99.8% of Christian music. Someone recommended the Getty's to me and I looked them up on YouTube and fell instantly in love with their music. br / br /Their songs are so biblically based it is incredible; they understand that God's love and his justice meet at the cross, and that he's not an amatory God. br / br /This music is God-glorifying and saint-edifying. It is highly recommended.

I love these thoughtful hymns for, unlike many modern hymns that use repetitive mantras, the lyrics are designed to have depth. br / br /I particularly like "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" in the traditional version is followed by "I fain would take my stand". In the version on this CD it is followed, with the more confident, with "I find a place to stand". br / br /I also purchased the music book that goes with this CD. I like the Celtic style of the songs and Kristyn sings with contemplative freshness. This CD has some of the most popular of the Getty's songs.
